Dr Helen French
Senior Lecturer in the School of Physiotherapy, Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin
Dr Helen French is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Physiotherapy, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Her PhD completed in 2011 and which was funded by a HRB Fellowship for the Therapy Professions investigated the effectiveness of exercise therapy and manual therapy for osteoarthritis of the hip. Since then, she has continued to conduct research on lower limb osteoarthritis and other related pathologies. She is currently conducting a Cochrane review on the effectiveness of adjunctive therapies used in conjunction with exercise therapy for hip or knee osteoarthritis.
Dr French was awarded a Fulbright-HRB Health Impact Scholar 2017-2018 to conduct research on movement analysis of hip dysfunction in adolescents which she will undertake in Boston University.
She also teaches on postgraduate courses for physiotherapists in musculoskeletal therapy for hip and pelvic girdle pain
